James Crawford has achieved a broad range of educational degrees, technical skills and experience. He is a retired Coast Guard Captain who operated Coast Guard Cutters and flew both fixed and rotary winged aircraft. He served as Chief of the Coast Guard's Command Center and as Chief of the Avionics Branch of the Coast Guard's Aeronautical Engineering Division. Prior to joining Introtech full time in 1999, he worked on a myriad of crashes for the company on a part-time basis. His formal training in crash reconstruction includes:
- At Scene Traffic Accident Investigation and Advanced Traffic Accident Investigation from the University of North Florida (I.P.T.M.)
- Traffic Accident Reconstruction from the University of California at Riverside
- Measuring at the Scenes of Traffic Accidents from Northwestern University
- Human Factors in Aviation Safety from the University of Southern California
Mr. Crawford is a member of the National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists (N.A.P.A.R.S.), Maryland Association of Traffic Accident Investigators, Inc. (M.A.T.A.I.), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), The Accident Reconstruction Communications Network and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
